The brief set for this project was to create unique, innovative packaging for the launch of a new product from the ‘Grown up chocolate company’.
The specification required the product to be fun, different and aimed towards a more refined, older demographic, whilst still in keeping with the brands image. My take on this project was to create something which I myself have never seen utilised on a chocolate box: the incorporation of heat sensitive technology within the packaging.
The general idea for this was that as the consumer handled the box, the outside would transform from a standard black box, into a box showcasing examples of all the flavours of chocolate offered by the Grown up chocolate company. The idea behind this was to create a more tactile and interactive piece of packaging for the company, encouraging consumers to hold and handle the product as a sensory experience in itself, whilst simultaneously retaining a more up-market aesthetic.
